Remembering My Why

Today I took a walk - it was beautiful outside and it was my rest day. A few walkers in my neighborhood asked, "What? You are not running?" I said today is my day off. I cross trained. I walked and I did some yard work. I realized that I need to do a bit more than the minimum to get where I want to go. So I am changing some things up!

My mom was and still is my inspiration. Being healthy is a better choice then the alternative. Feeling well is so important. My mom was a pioneer in wellness. My mom believed in it so much she bought and gave away step counters to everyone who needed one. She served her community because being healthy is so important.

I am literally following in my mom's steps...I do what I do because I believe that we should go for it. Go for our goals. Whatever those goals might be. I love to run and I have a goal to run the Boston Marathon because it is the ultimate goal of any runner. Yes, it is a goal that might be outside of my reach; but - guess what - I might actually do it! I am channeling my mom and what she taught me.

Don't give up - keep pursuing your goals. That is what life is all about.
